For Global Corporations

Simulation Verification and Validation

Training

To support Simulation Verification and Validation, our training focuses on the fundamentals of Solid Mechanics, Kinematics, Heat Transfer and Fluids using the industry's best practices. These instructor-led classes are the perfect mix of Technical Theory and Practical Application. No matter what level you're at, you will walk away with more confidence and more optimized designs.

Being a better designer means being a better decision maker. We help engineering teams make better decisions by refreshing the fundamentals, while also catching up on the latest product development tools. Interested in training your engineering team in the latest CAD/CAE tools from software like Solidworks, PTC Creo, Ansys, and Autodesk? Check out our CAD/CAE training classes.

Consulting

With decades of experience working with global corporations who already use simulation, we understand the challenges for Technical, Distributed Teams. Whether it's a fixed price simulation with a clearly defined Statement of Work (SOW) or a flexible "pool of support hours" to answer specific questions,  we work seamlessly alongside Design, Engineering, an Manufacturing teams to tackle the toughest Mechanical Engineering challenges. At the global scale, many times the conversation is not about "Can we simulate this?", but more like "How can we best leverage our existing investment in simulation?". This results in hot topics like Simulation Process Control & Standardization, High Performance Computing (HPC), and of course Verification and Validation.

If these are topics are Mission Critical to your organization, please contact us for a free assessment.

Simulation Verification and Validation Industry Highlight: Aerospace & Defense

Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird Developed required rigorous Simulation Verification and Validation

Most of the cutting edge simulation tools that we use today have roots in the Aerospace and Defense industry.  This includes NASA Structure Analysis (NASTRAN) code which is now utilized by Autodesk, Siemens and MSC.  Additionally, commercial CFD code was born from methods developed at Los Alamos National Lab, Boeing, and Lockheed Martin.

As an industry which has used these tools the longest, they are not only the leaders in application of the tools, but also in their standardization and quality control. For example, many designs must pass environmental testing that is defined by MIL-STD-810. This series of tests, which encompass structural, thermal, fluid, and electro-magnetic physics, are meant to qualify the design for it's duty in harsh environments. The most successful firms are able to minimize the amount of time & money spent in "Qual Testing" by performing the simulation with FEA and CFD beforehand.

With standards now in place, leaders in our industry have shifted focus to the critical topic of Verification and Validation. In fact, ASME now has published standards for V&V in both Computational Mechanics as well as Fluids Dynamics & Heat Transfer. All of Fastway's classes have incorporated years of experience in empirical testing, and correlating CAE results to actual test data. The companies below have benefited from our experience either in Training or Consulting. We'd love to have you on that list as well!
